Are there still things in life that you would like to do? New skills? Do you have a desire to try new things or visit new places? Hopefully, you are answering YES to these questions because the gaining of knowledge is something that should never end.
I’m not a very adventurous person. I have no great desire to climb mountains or jump out of aeroplanes. I don’t have a need for speed or a wish to scuba dive. But there are some things that I would like to try to improve my skill level on and even one or two completely new things I would like to learn.
My recent trip to Europe has woken a tiny part of me that would love to do more travelling. I learned a lot about myself during my trip – about my strength and my capacity to adapt and mostly about what it means to be a part of the larger global community. Photography is another thing that I have a smidgen of interest in looking into more. Nothing high tech, just how to use my phone camera more effectively! Also, singing in a community choir or the like is on my list for next year!
But what I wanted to tell you about is a new skill I learned over the weekend! I am so proud of my achievement. I learned to clip my cats claws!!! I know ….. amazing isn’t it! After all these years of paying someone to do it, I just paid $10 for the correct equipment and did it myself. I wasn’t even that hard. Sure, Fev may have walked around the house lopsided for a day – due to the fact that she decided one paw was enough, at a time! But using my sneaky Ninja skills – I was able to do the other paw while she was sleeping later that night! Winning! Still upskilling at 57 years of age! I am indeed a woman with few needs.
What are you still hoping to learn that will widen your horizons?
