Wednesday’s Words: Grief.

I knew a couple of weeks ago, that this March/April period of time was going to be harder than usual.  As I wrote about in an earlier post HERE when Easter comes early in the year, my intense period of grief, is extended and drawn out.  I am finding this, the 7th year of remembering, very difficult.  The reasons for this are many and varied, with the timing being just one.  Another, has been that for the first time, I’ve been encouraged by some well meaning acquaintances, to move on – it’s been a long time!  With these unhelpful words ringing in my head, I decided to consult the very wonderful Dr Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, author of the ground breaking book, published in 1969, On Death and Dying.

The quote that I have chosen for today comes from her last book, completed just one month before her own death in 2005 and  co- written with David Kessler, called On Grief & Grieving.
